RailYatri customer data traced to an unsecured Elasticsearch server (exposed in 2020 and hit by the automated "Meow" wiper in August 2020) surfaced for sale and was indexed in December 2022. The dataset comprised over 31 million records covering roughly 23 million unique email addresses, along with names, genders, phone numbers, and ticket-purchase details including travel information and fares. Partial payment-card logs were also present, including the name on the card, the first and last four digits, the issuing bank, and expiry information.
